Project Overview
Nestled inside Phipps Plaza, Atlanta’s premier luxury shopping destination, this 5,132 sq. ft. retail space will house the new FENDI store. DCMS was commissioned to scan and document two adjacent suites that would be combined to accommodate the new layout. The scope included capturing architectural interiors, mechanical and electrical systems, and the exterior mall façade, enabling a complete redesign aligned with the brand’s elevated retail experience.

Our Role & Technology
DCMS deployed LiDAR-enabled Matterport Pro3 to capture interiors-exteriors, storefronts and circulation areas. Despite mirrored surfaces and lighting challenges, the team produced point cloud data for comprehensive modeling.
Created detailed 3D models of electrical, mechanical, and structural systems throughout both retail suites
Conducted full-site 3D scanning using LiDAR for interior and exterior conditions
Delivered a coordinated digital twin to support design planning and integration
Key Challenges & Solutions
Reflective surfaces and uneven lighting: Adjusted capture strategy to reduce scanning interference and improve clarity in mirrored zones.
Multi-unit alignment: Ensured precise stitching of two separate units into one cohesive model.
High design expectations: Modeled with millimetric accuracy to match FENDI’s luxury standards and facilitate architectural coordination.
