Project Overview
Located in the vibrant and historically rich district of Hamilton, Ontario, this 5,339 sq. ft. commercial property sits on a prominent corner lot. The building spans three levels, basement, ground floor, mezzanine and features distinctive ornamental façades and unique window designs. DCMS was commissioned to produce a full as-built BIM model to support upcoming renovations and detailed retail planning.

DCMS deployed the Matterport Pro3 scanner to deliver a complete digital capture of the interior and exterior of the building.
Captured high-density point cloud data for all levels and architectural components
Built a LOD 300 Revit model incorporating custom families for historic windows, built-ins, and façade elements
Delivered a 360° virtual walkthrough and online 3D model to facilitate remote stakeholder coordination
Key Challenges & Solutions
Multi-Level Scan Continuity: Sequential scanning and overlap ensured seamless floor transitions across basement, main, and mezzanine levels.
Inventory Obstructions: On-site materials and stock were navigated using angled capture and careful alignment during post-processing.
Historic Design Detailing: Modeled architectural moldings, asymmetrical façades, and custom window profiles using tailored Revit components.
