Project Overview
Located in Bradenton, Florida, this commercial property spans over 64,000 sq. ft. and features two floors with generous ceiling heights and open interior volumes. Though the space had been unoccupied for some time, its structure, including distinct upper-floor office areas and a large ground-level layout, remains integral to future renovation efforts. The scan aimed to document the building’s current state in preparation for complete restoration and redesign.

Our Role & Technology
DCMS used LiDAR-based Matterport Pro3 technology to scan both levels of the building, ensuring comprehensive coverage despite low-light conditions. The resulting point cloud enabled the team to deliver precise and coordinated documentation for future design interventions.
Created a detailed set of architectural drawings from the point cloud, capturing walls, roof geometry, and elevation details.
Supported the development of elevation views directly within Revit, based on scan data.
Adapted scanning strategy to account for visibility challenges, ensuring accuracy in dark or inaccessible zones.
Key Challenges & Solutions
Low-Light Interior: Some building zones lacked lighting, but LiDAR ensured precise geometry capture.
Large-Scale Coordination: Multiple interior zones were documented with a structured, consistent workflow.
Scan-to-Revit Accuracy: Modeling directly from the point cloud guaranteed roof and elevation fidelity.
