DCMS conducted a detailed 3D laser survey of a 9,110 sq. ft. single-family estate in Banner Elk, North Carolina, a scenic mountain town known for its luxury homes and natural beauty. The property featured steep rooflines, exposed beams, and intricate façades. Using high-density point cloud data, our team captured both interior and exterior conditions. This digital model supported renovation planning, design coordination, and remote collaboration with project stakeholders.

To ensure complete data coverage, our team used a combination of terrestrial LiDAR scanning and drone capture to generate a coordinated model of the residence and its surroundings.

Multi-level Complexity: Complex geometry and split-levels required extra precision in point cloud alignment.
Detailed Rooflines: Varied angles and heights were carefully modeled for accurate BIM coordination.
Vegetation Obstruction: Scanning in wooded areas required optimal path planning and drone integration to avoid data gaps.
